The axle hub bearing retaining nut design has been changed from powdered metal to forged steel for improved durability and performance. Due to the design change, the drive nut interface also changed, and CH-49794 will not work with this new design. CH-50636 has 9 drive pins in place of the 6 drive tangs on CH-49794, and will allow the specified torque to be reached to set proper preload. Unapproved methods can damage the bearing, or result in less than desired service life.
